Students walked into a familiar classroom after lunch on the fifth of January in the year of 2022. The difference today was that, to most of the students in the room, the class was a brand new one. First Responder had returned to the elective list at Ouray High School and members of the student body from sophomores to seniors were in attendance.

Ouray High School Creative Writing is back as an elective after a six-year hiatus. One January afternoon, they took a walk in the crisp air and composed these haiku from their observations.

The Ouray High School boys basketball team started off their season November 15, 2021 with more than enough players to comprise a junior varsity and varsity team. They are all very excited to have the opportunity to play during these times. Due to covid concerns, past seasons haven’t been the easiest.
