A Champion Among Us Ella Skoloda, the first Ouray School student to compete with the Montrose High School mountain bike team, has been named Regional Champion in the category of sophomore girls. This is her second year of competition, and she is the first on her team to achieve this honor. She said it came as a “complete shock.”
Lunchtime in Ouray Every day at 12:35 pm hungry Ouray high school students quickly collect their items and make their way off campus. Students have until 1:20 to return for fourth period. A lot of recent changes within the school have caused students to stop eating lunch in the cafeteria.
Climbing the Peak Community building activities in schools are usually the cause of much groaning from students, but at Ouray School they are tolerated - and, dare I say it? even enjoyed. Climb the Peak day is an (at minimum) annual event where the entire high school and its staff go on a hike together.

7th Grade Adventures in Moab I took a deep breath to still my quickly beating heart. I and Zoe had bolted up the large formations of rock the jeepers and thrill seekers seemed to enjoy. We were on our own adventure. We hid carefully, for we were playing a game of hide and seek with the whole of our class. After regaining my breath I looked to see if the seeker had started.
