Mariana Marinho Dos Santos grew up in Brazil before moving to New Jersey in 2016 and, subsequently, Ouray in 2020. “When I moved to New Jersey, I didn’t know a word in English,” she reflected. “It was a struggle. Basically, I had nobody to help me. I was by myself.” But she persevered, mastering the new language by freshman year and moving to Ouray as a sophomore.

A casual enjoyer of chicken nuggets and George Orwell, Colin Sills will disrupt any expectations you have of him. His parents, Sam and Kimberly, and his younger sister Aidan, are as likely to find him gardening as playing video games, watching ‘Goonies’ as ‘Star Wars’, listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival as Foo Fighters.

Riley Ross, son of Brandy and Bob and younger brother of Jacksen, will miss the wilderness of Ouray. He enjoys the climbing, biking and exploring he has grown up with. He also enjoys tropical fruits, the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, rock music and 70s soul, and Iceland.

Students at Ouray School work in a wide variety of jobs, and their experiences help, according to how positive an environment their job creates. The better the environment, the better the job. At Riverside RV Park employees seem to love their jobs and strive to do good.
